Is this a CD-R drive?  I think chances are good.  I've just committed
the changes for recognizing the CDD2000 series drives.  I think you
could clone the entry in sys/scsi/scsiconfig.c for the CDD521.
Perhaps it's even save to reduce the match string from "CDD2000*" to
"CDD*".
