Have you looked at http://fallout.campusview.indiana.edu/~jfieber/docbook/markupguide.html which talks about converting DocBook to HTML. You might try using something like sgmlfmt -d docbook -f nroff at1.docb | groff -Tps > at1.ps which uses 'nroff' formatting, and uses groff to do the conversion to PS.
