Under 2.2-STABLE (after 2.2.6), I can fire up the "blender" can see the
main window (move the cursors, etc...) but pressing "F1" displays a "file
open" dialog and immediately crashes the application. 

This can be repeated at will.  I can also supply core dumps if needed ;-)
