     could you give a listing of your /dev/directory ?
     (ls -l /dev/bpf*)
     
     and the **exact** error message sent by tcpdump.

just one. And it doesn't matter if I do 
tcpdump
tcpdump -i de0          or
tcpdump -i tun0
