Hmm.. So far by this moment I was considering updating binaries/kernel as rather more compicated procedure. Hmm.. By the way, can anyone share why in BSD it was decided to avoid inittab things (while init's still present), so far I see in systems havin' inittab it makes configuration much more flexible... maybe my opinion is just biased by Linux expirience tho..
