AFAIK, it replace gtk with a different library with the same API, but a different look. Sort of like Xaw3d and Xaw. I don't think you need to have gtk installed for the port to work, and I don't think it should make a difference for building ports. However, the port author (Gilad Rom) should know better; I'll talk to him about it tomorrow (he seems to be asleep now). Eivind.
