Actually, that's by no means correct. The linux_lib port installs the Linux 'sh' in /compat/linux/bin/{sh|bash} and the correct way to install a piece of Linux software is to start by running that shell. The real problem is that the Linux uname(1) lives in /bin, while the install script in question in this conversation checks for /usr/bin/uname first.
