Whilst I think it would be very useful to gauge the demand for various commercial packages on FreeBSD, I think it is very important to be careful how we go about this. The company in question should be asked before we go ahead and put a message like this on the Web site. Many companies would not appreciate large numbers of people contacting them about the same issue. I would much rather have one person explain an issue to me than have fifty people mention an issue to me. Besides, I expect people who really care about a FreeBSD port of VMWare will have already contacted the company. They won't need asking.
