ARGH. Yes, I just discovered this now when testing my newbusified VIA
Rhine driver. For some peculiar reason, everything worked correctly
with the ThunderLAN card that I have in the machine normally. This fix
works correctly for my crufty 486. Somebody pass the pointy hat.
