Actually sysinstall gets confused when it tries to read its disklabel
(which must fail, because there is no memory card in the slot).  I think
this is brain damage in the VAIO -- it is as if the memory card slot is
not a removable device ...

But yes, as Mike says, the work around is to disable it during the
install.
