I recently had a similar problem with a ASUS P2B-F motherboard and a 450 PIII. Random crashes for no apparent reason once or twice a day. I disabled cache on the 450 and everything worked great for days. Arranged a processor swap with the vendor I bought the processor from. Haven't had a crash since I put the new processor in.
