You need to set up proxy ARP.  This is the classic 'gateway-thru-ppp'
condition and should be well documented in the mail archives if not in the
tutorials or handbook.

Absolutely!  Where do you think DOS got the idea for that?  :-)

You can get even tweakier with the redirection.  See the man page for your
shell for further details.
