That depends on a couple of things:

1)  Does your ISP have a hard-limit on how long you can stay connected?
2)  Does the modem stay idle for more than 5 minutes?

#2 you can fix by typing 'set timeout 0' at the ppp> prompt before
dropping to terminal mode.
