OK.

I started pinging a remote host and then called the answerphone. Packets
stopped getting through as the call was answered. So, case 1.

Brought the link down, phoned the answerphone, brought the link up,
started pinging, hung up on the answerphone, phoned the answerphone and
packets stopped getting through.

So it seems that an incoming tel0 call messes up isp0 regardless of the
channel in use.
