Look into the properties of your icon. You will see, that you don=B4t hav=
e
write access on this newly created icon, which in fact is a file in your
Desktop directory. Switch on write access; there will be again an error,
but it actually is changed. Next time you open it, you have write access
and the errors are gone. But only for this special file.

This for sure is a bug in the KDE implementation of FreeBSD, at least I
never noticed this in different Linux distros. But I=B4m waiting for KDE
2, there your bug reports will be meaningful (should be out in
September).

I don=B4t think there=B4s a relation of the problems. Who is running your=
 X
server? Root? Try xhost or for security reasons better (but not so
simple) xauth.
