Definitely not "intended". It is intended that a seedfile get written at shutdown. Are you fully up to date with your mergemaster(1)ing? > Now I use "init 0" for shutdown and "init 6" for reboot. That is a bug if you are up to date. However, it is beyond my ken to fix.
