So you say there's a Oh my, isn't *our* vitriol showing. :-) Willie, if you're having this bad a day then kindly do us all a favor and get back in bed. I don't need this kind of raving in my mailbox before lunch. > design.. where's the design document? Just like SMPng, OP intends to There are actually several documents checked into the libh tree which describe the implementation and overall design, all written by the contractor who did the first implementation. There are also a number of my postings, which I'll dig up if you're truly search-challenged, which go into considerable detail about the design goals and proposed implementation. I also discuss libh as it relates to these overall goals (in addition to describing the goals themselves) in a document which I posted some time back and continue to archive here: http://people.freebsd.org/~jkh/package-and-install.txt So pull your head in. For the last 7 years or so there's been nothing *but* discussion on this topic and very little code, so it's more than reasonable to suspect that maybe a time for shifting to a more code-centric approach is upon us if we want to actually ACHIEVE anything in this area. I'm also hardly stopping you from discussing all this further in the openpackages project - discuss away for all I care. Being aggressively defensive about it, as you have been to date, hardly does it or you credit, however. That's an approach you need to simply leave to those folks who stand on milk crates and talk about Jesus through electronic bull-horns with the dial set at "10" :) - Jordan To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-ports" in the body of the message
