Just for the sake of finishing on a happy note this machine had a few year
old firmware on it from 1998ish, put a 2000ish firmware update I have
laying around on it and it goes. Thanks for your help, I'll be back when
it comes time to try and make the fancy compaq computer work :) you have
been warned :)
