Consider this: when you last did a 'cvs import' on FreeBSD, did you check to see if the current vendor branch was 1.1.1 or 1.1.2 or something else? The only time people *other* than the original importer get to find out about this is after they've made a big mistake and imported onto the default 1.1.1 branch and made a good mess of things. Yes it works, but it requires much more continuous vigilance than is typically spent. It is hard enough to get different people to use the same symbolic tag for the vendor branch.. Personally, I dont think it makes sense for FreeBSD unless we're going to be tracking *multiple* vendors for something at once. We dont do that anywhere right now.
