It looks like fd_detach is doing the right thing now, but I didn't look closely. If you are still seeing things in devinfo, then it is doing things wrong. If you kldunloaded the device, and the device didn't detach, something is seriously wrong. I'm having trouble understanding what you are saying here, so if it sounds like I'm replying to something you aren't seeing, please clarify what's going on.
