I've never used 5.0, but usually, when I need to make a device entry, I
do:
cd /dev ; ./MAKEDEV <device>
If the disk is formatted as a DOS FS, then once you have the device
entries, you should be able to do:
mount -t msdos /dev/ad8s1 /mnt
