No, this is just a controller that got dumped. It's an *excellent* unit at that price; it's really a high-end unit comparable with the AMI 1500 or the Mylex EXR2000. You'll want to talk to Scott Long, who now maintains the driver for these controllers, about getting the most recent firmware for it, or you can search Dell's website for firmware for the PERC 2/QC, which is the same card. > Are there any particular mid-level favorites right now? Management tools are the gotcha. For that reason, though I'm less fond of the controller or driver, I tend to recommend the Adaptec ASR3200. Alternatively, consider ATA RAID and the 3ware cards.
