When I say slow, I realy mean slow. Actually yesterday I did some ironing during start-up;(. Regarding the sound card after new install I didn't install yet, but I already had the problem before. Neverteless I will install it again, so I can be sure no two problems are interacting. I have exactly the same problems as root. I also have the entries in /etc/services. Neverteless you gave me some idea. given that port 111 is an rpc service (whatever that is), would my problems have to do with fam? Afterall the package stated that you have to add an entry to /etc/rpc for fam (which I did). Thanks so far, Simon Siemonsma On Wednesday 26 December 2001 14:08, you wrote: > Mmm strange.
