I am also seeing this, see message id 004401c18721$2c696620$c806a8c0@lfarr for the start of the thread. I gave up and put a SCSI CD in, which has no problems at all on the same CD's. (I tried using a via and promise controller with identical failures.) Can anyone ou there successfully do this on a recent stable IDE system?
