Thanks for your answer! Sounds like it could be worth checking the cable length & making sure it's pushed in fully. Having said that, I have a drive here that seems quite sensitive to boot time case temperature, even though it's much less fussy thereafter. At least, I -think- it's temperature, as it only seems to screw up on soft reboots after reasonably long uptime.
