Sorry, I misunderstood the problem. How exactly are you writing to this IDE CDRW? The regular cdrecord and se on don't support IDE CDRWs (SCSI is supported). Are you certain this is not the problem? There are modified versions available for IDE drivers and a patch for -STABLE called the ATAPI-CAM patch (I can give you the URL if you need it/can't find it on Google). I don't know - this is just a guess. I have the same problem and maybe that would explain why I can't burn discs <grin>. Best wishes. -lewiz.
