All the others (Perl, Python, PHP) use ${PREFIX}/lib/%lang%/ for their third-party libraries... and we also agreed that the Java libs should follow this tradition as well, since it seems to be the accepted practice among non-C languages. So for us that would be ${PREFIX}/lib/java/ or /usr/local/lib/java for most people.
