It ended with all = your points becomes void. The last posting in the thread, that reached me, was that by Harti: Date: Fri, 6 Sep 2002 17:52:55 +0200 (CEST) From: Harti Brandt <brandt@fokus.gmd.de> To: Mikhail Teterin <mi+mx@aldan.algebra.com> cc: Harti Brandt <brandt@fokus.gmd.de>, Andrey A. The question is whether to install all of them per default or to install only koi8-c and make koi8-[ru] aliases. For me it doesn't matter. I really would like to see koi8-c (I love the old russian orthography). Make a STRICT_RFC knob to the make file to install all three fonts. harti Do you, perhaps, have something later? = If conformance never existed before, the only way is to achieve it. No, quite obviously, there are other ways -- such as trying to conform to a newer standard while maintaining a good compatibility with the older one... = > populating the default lib/X11/fonts/cyrillic for many years and did = > not bother to disspell XFree86 project's notion, that "Cyrillic" and = > "Russian" are the same things. So, please, come down and act as a = > mortal. Thank you, = = koi8-r is Cyrillic (among others). Period. You keep repeating this, and I'm forced to keep reminding you, that the reverse is NOT true -- Cyrillic is NOT koi8-r. A responsible bearer of the i18n-hat (if we have/need one), would not have allowed for such a misconception to exist for so many years. Finally, you, apparently, effectively backed out Maxim's last changes without his nor the port-maintainer's aproval. It seems, an ethics-refreshment course is overdue... -mi To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe cvs-all" in the body of the message
