I can confirm something very wrong is going on. I cvsuped this morning and installed 4.7RC. Suddenly trying to resolve domain names fails when I specify IPv4 in ssh. This worked fine prior to the upgrade. % ssh -4 ptavv.es.net ssh: ptavv.es.net: Non-recoverable failure in name resolution The nameserver has not changed and this command worked fine yesterday. If I leave off the -4 (allowing the system to try to connect with IPv6), it works, even though the remote system is not reachable with IPv6 an has no AAAA record. I have not looked at how the resolver calls differ between default and -4 in ssh, but something is broken! Previous update was last Saturday morning. R.
