Probably a corrupt font file. You might try removing XFree86-font*, then reinstall those ports to see if the problem goes away. Like I said, fc-cache runs just fine for me on four different machines (3 -STABLE, 1 -CURRENT). Two of them have custom TrueType fonts added as well. All of them have webfonts installed.
