I'll throw my homegrown 5.2-RC on the same hardware next. See if
that behaves better :)

I don't recall earlier FreeBSD revs even detecting USB on the same
hardware. But memory is dim :/

I'm pretty sure I have FreeBSD running on one of them earlier.
But I do not recall the details unfortunately.
