Don't worry, that "phasing" is meant that we will prefer Gtk2 version
when some software have both Gtk1 and Gtk2 versions available.
We can't delete Gtk1. Yet.

Regarding ports/62547, I'm not E expert myself, but is it something
that's specific for FreeBSD port? Otherwise it would be more useful to
ask authors of E than port maintainer.
