I got bitten by that a couple of weeks ago doing an FTP install; I hit ENTER, nothing happened, then I realized, hit TAB ENTER and carried on. Came back an hour later to find it merrily installing XFree86 which I didn't want - I guess XFree86 was highlighted the first time I hit ENTER and I didn't notice that it had been checked (I alway use SPACE for selecting/deselecting options).
