I like your alternative suggestion, and in fact highly prefer it. We could also make 'use.perl' only handle the manpath.config part. I just don't see the need for PERL_VER, PERL_VERSION, PERL_ARCH, NOPERL, NO_PERL, and NO_PERL_WRAPPER in every /etc/make.conf in the world on 5.3 and later. -- -- David (obrien@FreeBSD.org)
