The dependencies appear to me to be removed in the order that they are listed in the dependency. e.g. if EXTRACT_DEPENDS=foo bar then after the extact is done, foo will be removed, then bar. At the end, they are removed in a tricky order, which appears to be: "concatenate RUN_DEPENDS and BUILD_DEPENDS and then drop duplicates". That should correspond to the list above. The script is in ports/Tools/portbuild/scripts/buildscript. I am not the person most familiar with it. mcl
