I bet you did a large upgrade. Move extensions around in /usr/local/etc/php/extensions.ini then check php -v to see if the core dump is gone. There's some earlier discussions about this on the list (see the archives). Once the core dump is gone, installing Pear/Auth will work. -- Mel
