The current release version of PC-BSD is based on FreeBSD 6.3. They
are exactly the same but PC-BSD has been custom configured to provide
a usable desktop from first boot. For that particular card, you will
need the hal that is in FreeBSD7. I don't believe it was ever MFC'd
back to 6.x.

You can either grab FreeBSD 7 or try out the PC-BSD alpha at
ftp://ftp.pcbsd.org/pub/alpha-isos/i386/.
There will be a new PC-BSD alpha up next week.
