Hi, besides the wrong order of initializing syslogd in rc system when IPv6 has been enabled, I have found a second similar problem with the rc system on my client desktops. When you physically detach your NIC or make wireless access point inaccessible on which you have an nfs mounted file system (in fstab). The system will prevent you to get access to /dev/console and won't even start in single user mode. This is extremely annoying.
