Anyway, I closed this because there doesn't seem to be a good way to tell whether this is something that will cause problems or not. There are many compelling reasons to reuse partitions (e.g. /home) that will cause no problems. There are also a number of dangerous cases (e.g. /usr/local, /, etc.). Sometimes they will be fine (they might have been empty and created by hand), and there doesn't seem to be a good way to distinguish between them all. If there is, I'm happy to put it in and re-open (and re-close) this PR. -Nathan
