Is it possible to answer your question on a different machine, as I am =
not able to bring the system in question down for some time now. I am =
not clear on exactly how I can perform what you have requested.

Perhaps I mis-understood what "out of tree" meant. pefs.ko is the only =
kernel module I compiled myself, but from the sysutils/pefs-kmod ports =
tree package. I had re-compiled that after upgrading to 9.2.

ipl.ko is the IP Filter kernel module. That is loaded via =
ipfilter_load=3D"YES" in my /boot/loader.conf.
