I unplugged the mouse--a Kensington trackball--from my notebook and plugged it into the server. It still took a couple tries to get moused to run. For one thing 'auto' for moused_type really does need to be in lower case; it won't recognize 'AUTO'. The other thing is I had to specify moused_port. But by the time I got into X, the mouse was unresponsive. I unplugged it and plugged it back into my notebook. Now my notebook won't recognize it. Even with a restart of moused (which has helped with touchpad glitches). I plugged it into my Windows laptop (I'm working on a dissertation proposal at the moment and they require MS-Word formatting that can't be replicated with LibreOffice), and it recognized it fine. Could it be that my favorite trackball doesn't get along with FreeBSD so well? --=20 David Benfell <benfell@parts-unknown.org> See https://parts-unknown.org/node/2 if you don't understand the attachment. --SkvwRMAIpAhPCcCJ Content-Type: application/pgp-signature -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1 iQIcBAEBCgAGBQJT6zeDAAoJEBV64x4SNmAr3dMP+wU1KtiXLmp+IFP1NE8p4vCZ MPufQtqlKHgFzbSx+09tLDfkReqRBK5kvHqXHhP1CFRn9mY06BL9bM7Qm2CXZ7tc Iyz4waOXFLAalgdRhNs2QGyJpGP/7DIRNBO4w13ApfaiO53Ku5iOGxsSYRVwJISD 5YBPUyRCSPVdM1cVWSP/EwYXmfOQnRzwFA3vjHMwNDdxbhcL7lQYsJhONFbcKtNv QhtQwqImFAffLvQ4UA8JAMFIL67UzCWOyzh95ReFLPefgU97u5QXJAvAaU1Zm3nk mDpTQoafCUBGA345bwMJ5lndUKarS7GvcvP315ZHB6cK82RnjR79WI4GMxP67LpP UFx4Q0s0aTfy5fHWtmmnjActLrj0nXP1bixfqV3kE8IJW0ECp30D6ArKR7ALn1fP umw1t24ClWWRsUPnSCIZxN9YGVREK+8pGwIlo3CE64yKu7zVI530+761+T9zpXj4 D2sD7NeJLvMNBlXFhtt88M7tzJr9XGv5o63W+FDAVDwMA7eV2o32wqcpVGAoPeHb 1HrXVKQXWXTxx+EDJfEJGpSx6vxDMmwrQ+2F9IyfW1a19zm+jgnXcOyW+0Sm5qw0 a/DkyMXs9tSnlzfjGnYup7h0UqLQHJWLllxdLFnWt10EY5Icgq7Rw5i8tSPOWGnO B4gZEJksLtkODXif6ekm =/KgL -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --SkvwRMAIpAhPCcCJ--
