Randy,
	without real hostnames the problem is somewhat abstract and therefore
	hard to diagnose. can you divulge the real names?

	the responses of eudora and netscape match sort of, user unknown
	being the real result and its translation for the masses could
	be "recipient is unnaccepable to the smtp server".

	sounds like the user "someone" does not exist at "host1.domain2.com".
