These mean that your system is losing interrupts from the harddisk. Having seen these symptoms described just recently, I'm curious to know whether you're using a Packard Bell system? If you can't resolve this problem by tinkering with your motherboard setup, you won't be able to use FreeBSD on your hardware. It's showing symptoms of being badly broken. > Secondly, I have an ISP with a 28.8 connection, but during the > install I am never prompted to dial into the provider. If you're using a PPP connection, you'll have to swap over to vty2 (ALT-F3) and interact with the PPP program in order to dial. The installation guide has details on doing this. If you're using a SLIP connection, you should establish it before starting the installation. > Robert M.
