From the ftpd(8) manpage:
-t The inactivity timeout period is set to timeout seconds (the de-
fault is 15 minutes).
So, if you wanted to change the timeout to 30 minutes, you'd change
the line in inetd.conf which says
ftp stream tcp nowait root /usr/libexec/ftpd ftpd -l
to
ftp stream tcp nowait root /usr/libexec/ftpd ftpd -l -t 1800
