Yes -- just one board in this PC.  (We have 4 boards, but each one is
in a PC by itself)

I updated (via cvsup) to -CURRENT on Monday.

It didn't solve the problem on my system, but did change the symptoms
somewhat.   Now, FreeBSD doesn't lock during boot -- but the Cyclades
board still doesn't work, the ports simply don't respond, and I can't
exit tip (it just stops responding)
