Whoever commits your ports can just place the distfile in his
~/local_distfiles/ and it will appear on MASTER_SITE_LOCAL.  Dropping a
note to hubs@ beforehand (I think that is the the proper list, but
I'm not entirely sure) would be the polite thing, of course.

There are also Sourceforge (http://www.sf.net/ --offline at the moment)
and Savannah (http://savannah.gnu.org/).

You mentioned using bzip2.  Usually it names files with ".bz2" whereas
".bz" typically indicates that the file was made by the bzip utility
instead.  Since bzip contains an unlicensed, patented algorithm, using it
this way could cause legal problems.  Please use bzip2 instead.
