Last time this discussion arose, the conclusion was that we didn't want to use ports in the release-building process if it could be avoided; and I didn't (and still don't) have time to clean it up appropriately for inclusion in the base system. (My "port" includes NetBSD's make and a number of libraries because I figured it was easier to include those than it would be to rewrite the Makefiles.) > does it work for machines other than i386 (e.g. machines with big-endian > UFS)?
