Someone mailed me off-list with that suggestion. I've got another
machine that can just about manage to run X so I'll try it; got to
rebuild the world first to make sure the kernel and userland are in
synch as I've cvsup'd my tree since my last build.

What, in particular should I be looking for when it crashes?

Regards,

Mark
