Michael, I did that immediately upon receiving your orginal email but I was a bit nervious about changing all the package dependencies but I went ahead and made a wholesale change from devel/gamin to fam-2.6.9_6. After reading Dick's answer and his changes, I doubt that it will cause a major problem. Thanks, ed
