Just lookng... devel/ptmalloc looks nearer to linux glibc malloc.

Hmm if we are going to add nonstandard interfaces I certainly prefer the Apple
ones fver the linux ones. 

This probably won't solve the Xara problem for FreeBSD 5.x and 6.x though. BTW,
I would like a  posix_memalign MFC ;).
